Hello, I'm Yanitzia! I am a U.S Navy veteran with a passion for technology and a drive to keep learning and growing. After serving my country, I’m now focused on building a career in the tech industry. I enjoy exploring new technologies, solving problems, and continuously pushing myself to develop new skills.
In my free time, I love spending time with my pets—my green cheek conure, Paco, and my dog, Nito. Bonding with them is one of my favorite ways to relax and recharge. I’m also a foodie who enjoys exploring different cuisines and trying dishes from cultures all around the world. Currently, I’m a student at City College of San Francisco, working toward an associate degree in Computer Science as I continue to grow my skills and prepare for a future in the tech industry.
From October 2020 to October 2023, I served in the U.S. Navy as a PACT Seaman, gaining hands-on experience in ship maintenance, operations, and team coordination. I was responsible for preserving the ship’s exterior and interior spaces, assisting with small boat operations, and operating equipment such as JLG lifts. I stood critical watches both underway and in port, contributed to damage control and emergency response efforts, and played a key role in transferring supplies at sea. My time in the Navy strengthened my ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and collaborate effectively with a team.
During the summer of 2019, I completed a high school internship with SAP, where I worked closely with the SAP iXp human resources team. My role focused on researching and gathering information from over 500 universities and colleges to identify tech-related programs and student organizations that could benefit from the SAP iXp program. I reached out to these groups to build connections and share opportunities. Throughout the internship, I participated in events that introduced me to professionals across the tech industry. This experience sparked my passion for technology and inspired me to pursue a career in the field.
